Our Commitment to Safety

At Dolphin Traffic, we are committed to improving the safety of our transportation services by implementing thorough safety management measures so that our customers can enjoy their rides with peace of mind.

Safety Accreditation System

In December 2017, we received the highest rating of 3 stars for our excellent safety efforts under the “Safety Accreditation System for Charter Bus Companies” by the Nihon Bus Association. We have continued to receive a 3-star rating to date.

About Safety Accreditation System (Nihon Bus Association)

Periodic Employee Training

Bus drivers are required to complete a prescribed training course, and only drivers who have passed the course are assigned to the bus. In addition, we provide regular training in driving techniques, vehicle maintenance and customer service. We set a cycle of aptitude tests, senior-driver aptitude test for each driver and provide necessary training. We also participate in training sessions conducted by specialized organizations using actual vehicles.

Face-to-Face Roll Call and Alcohol Check

We have been implementing safe operation by conducting a strict roll call with a sobriety check, driver’s license check, and health check right before departure and upon arrival. In case of overnight stays in remote areas, the results of blood alcohol concentration check using a mobile device are sent to the company’s computer along with photos and GPS information, and the driver’s health is confirmed by telephone and an alcohol check is conducted. In the roll call corresponding to the new lifestyle, we carry out hand sterilization, installation of spray-prevention boards, wearing of masks, and body temperature check face-to-face with the driver.

Vehicle Maintenance

Before departing from the garage, the driver himself performs a daily inspection of the bus to ensure that there are no faults with the car. During the operation, the driver performs mid-point inspection to check if there is anything abnormal. In addition, our group company’s maintenance facilities conduct regular inspections on our vehicles. With equipment specialized for large-size vehicles, the dedicated maintenance staff can discover problems early and make repairs quickly.

Latest Safety Systems

All of our express buses are equipped with a vehicle distance warning system, collision damage mitigation brakes, wobble warning system, drive recorder, and digital tachograph (operation recorder). All chartered buses are equipped with a drive recorder and digital tachograph (operation recorder).
The footage from the drive recorder is used for driver safety training. We do not share drive recorder footage with any third party unless required by law.

Operations Management System and Driver Support

While the bus is in operation, the operations management staff are always present in the office to provide the drivers with the latest information on road and weather conditions and to issue appropriate operating instructions. If inclement weather is expected, we gather weather information and ensure that all drivers are informed during roll call.
